Bobby Bonds MLB’s 1st 40/40 Man! (Sorry Jose)

In 1973, Bobby Bonds of the San Francisco Giants had 39 HRs and 43 SBs. However, Bonds lost two HRs in a May, 23, 1973 game between the Giants and the Braves due to a rain out. In addition, Bonds also homered in the All-Star game that year (July 24, 1973). All three of these home runs were hit by Bonds during the 1973, yet none of them counted towards his final season total of 39 HRs. And Bonds did this 15 years before Jose Canseco accomplished  42 HRs / 40 SBs during the 1988 season.
