I saw the photograph…
Time it was, and what a time it was, it was
A time of innocence, a time of confidences
Long ago, it must be, I have a photograph
Preserve your memories, they’re all that’s left you…
– Simon & Garfunkel
The San Francisco Chronicle ran an interesting pictorial called “A Photo History of Baseball in SF” (2-26-13). It was a reminder of how a photograph can spark a memory, or trigger a recollection that brings you back in time to where you can almost recall the sights, sounds, smells, and excitement of being at the ballpark or game. Great players! Great games! Great times! Since Punky G. is the guardian for all things Giants here’s the link:

Enjoy. Giants forever!

Wow no one is clapping or cheering in this images.Although it doesn’t surprise me because of the era this was captured. And who Willie Mays was becoming at that point in time. Those in the stands with arms crossed and sour mugs weren’t loyal Giants fans. They didn’t look beyond who was wearing the Orange and Black. They just saw Black. Half the battle! I guess we all know who won that battle. Go WILLIE!!! GO GIANTS!!!
